2009-10 "It's Academic" Team News
   
New! Congratulations
to the It's Academic Team, David Kaiser-Jones, Caity Wallace, Mika Adamson, and Steffi Murti, on
their VICTORY over defending Baltimore Regional Champion Centennial High
School
and Archbishop Spaulding High School in the Final playoff round of It's Academic. Hammond's Team went on to compete in the championship round, finishing the season in 3rd place out of a field of more than 80 high schools, winning
   
a $2500.00 scholarship from Giant Food. Tune in to WJZ TV on June 19 at
10:00am
to see Hammond make it into the Championship Match!
New! Hammond's It's Academic Club is recruiting new members to its It's
Academic
Team! Membership is open to all current and incoming students.
The team competes
in tournaments with high schools in the Baltimore-
Washington region. Contact Mr. Helms
for more details.

Once again congratulations are in order
for Hammond's It's Academic Team,
David Kaiser-Jones
, Caity Wallace, Mika Adamson and Steffi Murti in this past
Saturday's semi-final round of It's Academic! It was anybody's game going
into the final round with Hammond surging ahead, defeating James M
Bennett
and Calvert Hall. The final score was Hammond 490, James M. Bennett

450, and Calvert Hall 390. This match will air on WJZ TV on May 22nd. Hammond now moves on to the next semifinal round, which will be taped on May 8th.

Congratulations
are in order for Hammond's It's Academic team, Mika Adamson,
David Kaiser-Jones, Steffi Murti and Caity Wallace, for its decisive victory against
Maryvale and Roland Park High High Schools In a hotly contested match at the
January 16 taping of It's Academic on WJZ TV! It was anyone's game going
into the final round. Up by only 10 points, the Hammond team surged ahead. The
final score: Maryvale- 350, Roland Park- 420, and Hammond running away with
the match at 510 points. Hammond's It's Academic Team now advances to the
Baltimore region's Semi-finals. The January 16 match will air on WJZ TV on
March 13
. WAY TO GO BEARS!!

Hammond's It's Academic team, David Kaiser-Jones, Caity Wallace, Steffi Murti,
Mika Adamson, Eli Sperling, Janet Dabo, Tim Simms and William Uckerman,
and sponsor David Helms, hosted Hammond's 11th Annual Green Eggs and
Hammond It's Academic To
urnament. Participating schools represented three states, four Maryland Counties, Baltimore City, and Washington D.C. A special thank you to Ms. Kathy Livas and members of Hammond's National Honor
Society
for their work that helped guarantee another successful tournament. Also, and more importantly, the team raised over $200.00 for the Robert Gross Memorial
Scholarship Fund
